Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons

Nevada State Police, Investigation Division in partnership with Nevada Indian Tribes and Tribal Communities, Tribal Organizations, and Urban Indian Organizations are providing information related to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP) within Nevada.  

The mission of this partnership is to bring attention to open MMIP cases, assist law enforcement agencies in their investigation, identify persons of interest, successfully locate missing individuals, and bring closure in cases related to human trafficking or murder. 

Through this partnership the Division aims to increase awareness, communication, and joint operations focused on MMIP within Nevada and by sharing case information, decrease the volume of open and or unsolved cases in the interest of justice and public safety.

Glenn Earl Wasson

Circumstances:

On the morning of February 23, 2000 Glenn Wasson was found stabbed to death near the entrance of the Winnemucca Indian Colony Administration Building in Winnemucca Nevada. It is believed that he was stabbed on the night of the 22nd before his body was discovered.

Circumstances:

Mary was last seen on the Reno Sparks Indian Colony with a man believed to be her boyfriend. He denied any knowledge of her disappearance and is now deceased.  On the day she disappeared Mary was wearing Levi jeans, a white shirt, jean jacket, and white tennis shoes. She had brown hair and brown eyes. Also known as Mary Thacker.

Anna Marie Scott

Circumstances:

On the early morning of February 3, 2022 first responders extinguished a car fire on I-580 near the Galena Bridge in Washoe County. They found Anna's deceased body in the trunk. The medical examiner determined that she had died from a gunshot wound and that her cause of death was a homicide. There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of her killer or accomplices to her murder. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is seeking information relating to Anna's movements and contacts in the days leading up to when her body was discovered.

Agnes Marlene Thomas

Status: Open

Circumstances:

On March 12, 2021 Marlene Thomas' deceased body was discovered in a pickup truck belonging to Marlene by her brother on the West Main Canal Road near Premo Lane in Owyhee Nevada.  Her death was caused by a single gunshot and the circumstances were determined to be suspicious prompting a homicide investigation.  A reward is being offered by Marlene's family in the amount of $5,000 for information leading the arrest and conviction of her killer or any accomplices that may have been involved in her death.

Jacob Narcho

Circumstances: 

Jacob was last seen by family in the area of Wadsworth Nevada during the summer of 2023 before suddenly disappearing. The Pyramid Lake Tribal Police conducted a search for Jacob and opened an investigation.  Jacob may be in the Reno Tahoe area.  

Kamiah Bird

Circumstances:

On September 16th, 2020 at 0018 hours, the Nevada Highway Patrol received multiple 911 calls reporting a two-car accident on I-15 southbound at Flamingo. NHP arrived on scene and discovered Kamiah Bird deceased in the driver's seat of her Blue 2016 Nissan Versa. Investigators determined that Kamiah was driving on the off ramp when she was shot through the front driver's window. After being shot she swerved her car left and drove across the dirt median onto the southbound travel lanes. More Information

Maleek Robertson

Circumstances:

On the morning of March 18, 2016 Maleek Robertson was found shot to death while in bed. Maleek was visiting the Carson Indian Community from Markleeville California where he was a resident of the Woodfords Indian Community. The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for his murder.
